Our Progress

- New partnership with SPACE: We partner with SPACE to co-design inclusive videoconferencing technology and widen the space for stuttering.
- Our research paper “`I Want to Publicize My Stutter’: Community-led Collection and Curation of Chinese Stuttered Speech Data”, is accepted with minor revision by CSCW 2024. This paper studied StammerTalk’s grassroots efforts to collecting the first and largest Mandarine stuttered speech data, discussing the benefits as well as challenges of community-led AI data collections. Stay tuned for the full paper and a summary in our blogs in a few weeks.
- Our research paper “Co-designing Inclusive and Empowering Videoconferencing Technologies with People Who Stutter”, is conditionally accepted by DIS 2024. This paper detailed our co-design process with the stuttering community to explore the design space for inclusive videoconferencing technologies. Stay tuned for the full paper and a summary in our blogs in a few weeks!

This public art installation is created by the collective People Who Stutter Create (PWSC) for the 2024 Whitney Biennial.
